It was an up and down week for Humboldt based volleyball teams as two teams saw their season come to a bitter end, while one other is still alive and kicking.
Junior “B” Girls
It was a tough trip to the district championships for the Humboldt Public Panthers as they lost to Watrous two sets to one, 19-25, 25-19, 4-15 in the district semi-final.
Junior “B” Boys
Things did not go much better for the St. Dominic Chargers in the boys district championships as they lost to Muenster two sets to one, 25-17, 25-18 in the district final.
Senior Boys
The Humboldt Collegiate Mohawks enjoyed a terrific trip to the 4A West Conference 2 conference championships in Outlook as they emerged from the tournament as the champions.
The Mohawks rolled through the tournament not losing a set as they knocked off Rosetown two sets to none in their opening match before knocking off Saskatoon Christian two sets to none in their late match on Nov. 10.
The Mohawks returned to the court on Nov. 11 and did not look back as they beat Outlook two sets to none and then beat Dalmeny two sets to one in their final match.
Thanks to their perfect 4-0 record the Mohawks earned the top seed in the tournament and booked their place in the regional championships.
The win moves the Mohawks into the 4A West Region regional championships, which they will host.
