Residents of the community of Cudworth will be taking a trip through the west on July 6-7 when the Cudworth Recreation Board plays host to their annual Great Western Days.

The two-day event will feature a wide variety of fun for the whole family, with many of the favourites returning for another year including the barbecue, bike decorating contest, face painting, slo-pitch, and swimming.

While many old favourites remain on the agenda, another was re-added as the recreation board, have brought back their lawn mower races after taking several years off.

“Last year we did the mud bogs, we did that for two years in a row so now we’re just going to go away from that and go back to lawn mower races because people were asking for them,” noted recreation board secretary-treasurer Karla Yuzik.

With ball, food, and kids activities all available to enjoy or watch, Yuzik notes the weekend sets up to be a fun filled affair for the whole family.

“It just brings everyone together. Lots of people come back that were raised here and play ball.”
