Tisdale Trojans win their second game of Telus Cup Western Regionals

TISDALE — With a 3-0 victory, the Tisdale Trojans have won their second game of the Telus Cup Western Regionals against their fellow Saskatchewan team, the Notre Dame Hounds.

TISDALE — With a 3-0 victory, the Tisdale Trojans have won their second game of the Telus Cup Western Regionals against their fellow Saskatchewan team, the Notre Dame Hounds.

Tisdale's Davis Chorney, with help from Skylar Olson, scored the first goal of the game with 9:16 left on the clock in the first period. That was followed up with a power play goal by Tisdale's Trenton Curtis, assisted by Dawson Schaff and Kalen Ukrainetz.

In the second period, David Wiens of the Trojans, assisted by Landon Kosior, notched another goal for his team with 22 second left on the clock.

The third period saw no goals scored.

Tisdale's Tanner Martin stopped all 15 shots against his net, while Notre Dame's Thomas Wardle stopped 23 out of 26 shots.

With the win, the Trojans have won two out of two games they've played, Saskatchewan's Notre Dame Hounds and Northern Ontario's Thunder Bay Kings have split their two games, and Manitoba' Brandon Wheat Kings have lost both games they've played.

The next game the Trojans will play in is on Saturday, April 6 at 3:30 pm against Brandon.
