Tisdale Trojans select Dennis Kubat as head coach, Cole Simpson as GM

TISDALE — The Tisdale Trojans have selected their new coach.

The team announced on Facebook that Dennis Kubat will serve in the position for the 2019-20 season. He was an assistant coach last season.

Kubat, a 31-year-old from Outlook, played as a forward for the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League’s Moose Jaw Generals from 2002 to 2005, the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League’s Flin Flon Bombers from 2005 to 2008, and the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III’s College of St. Scholastica for the 2008-09 season

The team has also selected a new general manager. Cole Simpson will serve in that role.

Simpson, a 33-year-old from Tisdale, played defense. He was a member of the 2002 Tisdale Trojans that won a Canadian championship. He played for the Western Hockey League’s Seattle Thunderbirds from 2002 to 2005, the Moose Jaw Warriors in 2005-05 and 2006-07, and the Prince Albert Raiders “A” in 2006-07. He is now a chiropractor.
