Tisdale Trojans lose semifinals; going to compete for bronze

TISDALE — The Cantonniers de Magog had won every game in round robin at the national Telus Cup, but the Tisdale Trojans weren't about to let them win the semifinal without a fight.

The Tisdale Trojans are going to be competing for bronze after the Cantonniers won the April 27 game 4-2.

The first period belonged to Magog. Justin Robidas scored a power play, followed by a goal by Zachary Michaud.

It was the second period where the Trojans shone. Trenton Curtis scored 53 seconds into the period and Cade Hayes scored a power play almost nine minutes in. Magog's Tristan Roy then managed to slip in a goal with only five second left in the period.

Magog's Roy then secured his team's win with a goal three minutes into the third period.

Tisdale's Tanner Martin stopped 28 out of 32 goals, while his counterpart Olivier Adam stopped 26 out of 28.

The Trojans will compete against the Calgary Buffaloes for bronze on April 28 at 11 am Saskatchewan time.
