Tisdale Trojans lose final round robin game

TISDALE — The Tisdale Trojans lost their final round robin game at the national Telus Cup against the Toronto Young Nationals 4-2. Trenton Curtis of the Trojans scored the April 26 game's first goal eight and a half minutes into the first period.

TISDALE — The Tisdale Trojans lost their final round robin game at the national Telus Cup against the Toronto Young Nationals 4-2.

Trenton Curtis of the Trojans scored the April 26 game's first goal eight and a half minutes into the first period. That was answered by goals by Toronto's Peter Stojcevski and Nick Enero.

Joshua Sinanan scored for Toronto almost three minutes into the second period. At the five minute mark, Jayden Wiens scored a shorthanded goal for the Trojans. Stojcevski then scored for Toronto with a minute left.

In the third period, the Trojans were unable to take advantage of the three penalties amassed by Toronto. No goals were scored.

The game leaves Tisdale with four points in the tournament, a position shared by the Calgary Buffaloes and the Toronto Young Nationals. Calgary has a game later on April 26. The Cantonniers de Magog at are first with eight points, the Halifax Macs have three points and the Thunder Bay Kings have one point.
