In their third game of the national Telus Cup on April 24, the Trojans won 2-0.

The first period saw the Trojans make seven shots on goal, compared to Halifax’s three. Tisdale was unable to take advantage of the three penalties Halifax amassed.

During a power play early in the second period, Tisdale’s Jayden Wiens would score the only goal of the game until late in the third period. The Trojans continued to outshoot the Macs 14-8.

In the third period, the Trojans managed to defend their net even as they had to wait out two penalties. The Trojans made eight shots on net to Halifax’s seven. With 30 seconds left in the game, Wiens scored an empty netter.

Tanner Martin stopped all 18 shots against the Trojans’ net, while his counterpart Liam Oxner stopped 27 out of 28 shots against him.

The victory places the Trojans at second place in the tournament, with four points. The Cantonniers de Magog have six points, the Thunder Bay Kings have zero points and the three other teams in the tournament have two points each.

The Trojans’ next game will be against the Calgary Buffalos on April 25 at 10 am Saskatchewan time.
