TISDALE — A Tisdale hockey player has committed to play with the Melfort Mustangs for the 2021-22 season.
Connor Hvidston is a 2004 born forward and was the ninth overall selection by the Mustangs in the 2019 SJHL Draft. He was also a 7th round draft pick of the Swift Current Broncos in the 2019 WHL Draft.
“Connor was our first round pick a few years ago and is someone we’ve been following for quite some time. He’s a player with big offensive upside and is someone we hope will play in our program for years to come,” said Trevor Blevin, the Mustangs’ head coach and GM. “We look forward to bringing him in next season and continuing our growth with young players for the future.”
Hvidston is currently in his second season with the Yorkton Maulers U18 AAA team. This season in seven games, he’s scored six goals and added six assists for 12 points. Last year as a 15-year old, Hvidston led the Maulers in scoring with 14 goals and 14 assists for 28 points.
