Three directors on the Humboldt Broncos’ board have resigned and a new assistant general manager has been selected.

Darrin Duell, Jay Fitzsimmons and Rob Eichorst have decided to move on.

“As our club and community move past the exciting, emotional week of our home opener and into a period of calmer reflection, it has become apparent to some – especially those who have volunteered so much of their time since April 6 – that now is the time to take a step back and take care of themselves,” said Jamie Brockman, the Humboldt Broncos’ president, in a media release. “On behalf of the board of directors and the entire organization, we extend our gratitude for their invaluable contributions.”

Luke Strueby will become assistant general manager while he retains his duties as director of scouting. He replaces Jason Neville.

Duell will remain chair of the Humboldt Broncos Memorial Fund and the HumboldtStrong Community Fund.

“I look forward to continuing to work closely with the Broncos in that capacity,” he said in a media release.

Duell said the departures on the team’s board will have no impact on the processes and operations of the other two non-profits he chairs, as they are separate registered non-profit entities with their own boards of directors.

The board is aiming to replace the three directors by the end of October.
