Onslaught of shots allows Tisdale Trojans to defeat Thunder Bay

TISDALE — Thanks to an onslaught of shots, the Tisdale Trojans defeated the Thunder Bay Kings 3-1. The Telus Cup Western Regional game against the Northern Ontario on March 4 saw the Trojans make 41 shots on net, compared to only 15 for the Kings.

TISDALE — Thanks to an onslaught of shots, the Tisdale Trojans defeated the Thunder Bay Kings 3-1.

The Telus Cup Western Regional game against the Northern Ontario on March 4 saw the Trojans make 41 shots on net, compared to only 15 for the Kings.

There was no scoring in the first period.

In the second, The Trojans' Jayden Wiens, with help from Zac Robins and MacKenzie Carson, scored the first goal with six minutes left on the clock. Thunder Bay quickly answered with a goal by Mason Bazaluk.

The third period saw Kalen Ukrainetz and Cade Hayes, who had help from Landon Kosior and Jayden Wiens, seal the game for the Trojans.

The Trojans will next face off against their fellow Saskatchewan team, the Notre Dame Hounds, on April 4 at 7:30 pm at the Tisdale RECplex.
