Midget A’s wrap up regular season, others not far behind

Midget AA It was a solid week for the Midget AA Broncos as they picked up wins in each of their two contests. The Broncos kicked off their week on a high note as they rolled to a 7-4 win over the Saskatoon Screaming Eagles on Jan. 27 in Saskatoon.

Midget AA

It was a solid week for the Midget AA Broncos as they picked up wins in each of their two contests.

The Broncos kicked off their week on a high note as they rolled to a 7-4 win over the Saskatoon Screaming Eagles on Jan. 27 in Saskatoon.

Gavin Ingram finished with a game high three goals for the Broncos, while Damon Vanderlinde chipped in with a pair, and Carter Sawchuk, and Skylar Wallin each added a single as the Broncos led 2-1 after the first and 4-2 after the second.

The Broncos wrapped up their week with a 4-3 win over the Saskatoon Sabercats in Saskatoon on Jan. 28.

Wallin led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring twice, while Vanderlinde and Kody Perlett each scored once.

Midget A

It was an up and down week for the Midget A Broncos as they split a pair of contests.

The week got off to a tough start for the Broncos as they were upended 7-4 by Wynyard on Jan. 23 in Humboldt.

Cody Bergermann led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring three times, while Theo Flory added the other as the Broncos trailed 2-1 after the first and 5-1 after two.

The Broncos wrapped up their week, and their regular season on a high note as they picked up a 6-3 win over Lanigan on Jan. 26 in Lanigan.

Luke Stadnyk and Bergermann led the way offensively for the Broncos each scoring twice, while Bray Berschiminsky and Ethyn Beggs chipped in with a single as the Broncos led 2-0 after the first and 6-3 after the second.

The Broncos wrapped up their regular season with a 4-14 record, good enough for sixth in the seven-team league standings.

Playoffs are due to get underway shortly with the Broncos scheduled to take on either Muenster/ Lake Lenore, or Davidson.

Bantam AA

It was a solid week for the Bantam AA Broncos as they picked up wins in two of their three contests.

The Broncos kicked off their week on a low note as they were upended by the Saskatoon Stallions 4-2 on Jan. 25 in Saskatoon.

Kaiden Korolchuk and Easton Ediger did the scoring for the Broncos, who were tied at zero after one period, and trailed 3-0 after two.

The second of three games went much better for the green and gold as they picked up a 6-3 win over Prairie Storm on Jan. 27 at the EPA.

Jackson Mark led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring twice, while Dawson Barlage, Austin Berezowski, Korolchuk, and Ediger each scored once for the Broncos, who trailed 2-1 after the first and led 4-2 after the second.

The Broncos wrapped up their week in excellent fashion as they picked up a 7-3 win over the Regina Pat Blues on Jan. 28 in Humboldt.

Berezowski led the way offensively for the green and gold scoring three times, while Hunter Hrushka, Connor McGrath, Noah Barlage, and Nolan Allan added the others as the Broncos were tied at one after period one and led 4-2 after period two.

Bantam A

It was a tough week for the Bantam A Broncos as they dropped a 9-6 decision to Drake/ViCo on Jan. 24 in Humboldt in their lone game of the week.

Carter Pavelich led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring twice, while Sean Brochu, Jackson Leonard, Dylan Kellington, and Kyden Molsberry each scored once as the Broncos trailed 3-1 after one and 5-4 after two.

Peewee AA

It was an up and down weekend for the Peewee AA Broncos as they picked up a blow victory, and were handed a blowout loss.

The week got off to a rough start for the green and gold as they were routed 9-3 by Melfort on Jan. 27 in Humboldt.

Bauer Dumanski, Cam Marshak, and Ryland Martin each scored once for the Broncos, who trailed 1-0 after the first period and 5-0 after the second.

The Broncos rebounded beautifully the following day as they cruised past Battleford 8-5 on Jan. 28.

Martin led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring three times, while Marshak, Dumanski, Blaise Athmer, Edward Knittig, and Kylan Korolchuk rounded out the scoring as the Broncos were tied at one after period one and led 5-4 after period two.

Peewee 1

It was an excellent week for the Peewee 1 Broncos as they picked up a dominating 8-1 win over ViCo on Jan. 28 in LeRoy.

Karver Simoneau led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring three times, while Carson Haugan, Jayden Cardinal, Seamus Menz, Abigail Martin, and Brett Lins each added a single as the Broncos led 5-1 after the first and 6-1 after the second.

Peewee 2

The Peewee 2 Broncos enjoyed a tough week as they dropped a tight 6-5 decision to Drake/Nokomis on Jan. 26 in Drake.

Joshua Schmidt led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring three times, while Liam Reineke and Bruce Green each scored once as the Broncos trailed 1-0 after the first and 6-2 after the second.  

Atom North

It was an excellent week for the Atom North Broncos as they picked up two wins and a tie in a trio of contests.

The Broncos kicked off their week to modest results as they drew 5-5 with Wynyard 1 on Jan. 24 in LeRoy.

Jimmy Ingram led the way offensively for the Broncos registering a hat trick, while Seth Holtvogt and Liam Zimmerman each scored once as the Broncos were tied at three after one and led 5-4 after two.

The second of three games was the Broncos’ best of the week as they rolled to a 9-5 win over Wynyard 2 on Jan. 26 in Wynyard.

George Armstrong led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring three times, while Zimmerman and Ingram each chipped in with a pair and Colin Stock and Caden Bauml each added singles as the Broncos led 5-2 after the first and 7-3 after the second.

The green and gold wrapped up their week on a high note as they picked up a 3-1 win over Muenster on Jan. 28 in Humboldt.

Jarek Zimmerman led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring twice, while Stock added the other as the Broncos were tied at zero after period one and led 2-0 after period two.

Atom South

It was a tough week for the Atom South Broncos as they were routed 11-4 by Southey on Jan. 28 in Southey.

Sloan Harder led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring twice, while Preston Hoppe and Brock Saretzky each added a single as the Broncos trailed 6-1 after one and 10-2 after two.

Novice 1

It was a rough week for the Novice 1 Broncos as they suffered an ugly 12-4 loss to Strasbourg on Jan. 28 in Strasbourg.

Luke Manz led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring twice, while Orrin Kusch and Kade Baert each scored once as the Broncos trailed 2-0 after the first and 9-1 after the second.

Novice 3

It was an excellent week for the Novice 3 Broncos as they picked up a pair of wins, outscoring their opponents 35-9 in the process.

The Broncos kicked off their week in destructive fashion as they routed Muenster/Lake Lenore W 19-3 on Jan. 23 in Watson.

Sloan Harder led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring nine times, while Carter Possberg chipped in with five, Hudson Armstrong with three, and Bryden Staniec, and Mason Parobec each with one as the Broncos led 7-1 after the first and 14-2 after the second.

The Broncos wrapped up their week with a 16-6 win over Wadena P on Jan. 26 in Wadena.

Harder led the way offensively scoring 11 times, while Possberg and Armstrong each scored twice, and Grady Clark added the other as the Broncos led 3-1 after the first and 10-3 after the second.

Novice 4

It was a solid week for the Novice 4 Broncos as they picked up a 13-4 win over Wynyard S on Jan. 28 in Watson.

Seth Holtvogt led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring seven times, while Tyce Gyrmacheski added four goals, and Kale Rintoul a pair as the Broncos led 3-0 after the first period and 10-1 after the second.
