The Humboldt Broncos will be seeing another familiar face on the opposition’s bench this coming season, as Chris Beaudry has been hired as the new assistant coach of the Melville Millionaires.

Beaudry becomes the second former Broncos assistant coach to join another SJHL club this offseason after Brayden Klimosko was hired as the new head coach and general manager for the Battlefords North Stars.

“I’d like to thank the Humboldt Broncos organization and town folk for everything the last year. I am excited to be joining the Melville Millionaires for the upcoming season,” Beaudry wrote on Twitter.

Beaudry, a St. Front resident, spent one season with the Broncos, first being hired as business operations manager, before seeing the assistant coach position added later last summer.

“I personally want to thank the Humboldt Broncos for giving me the opportunity to work with an amazing group of people for the last year. It was a dream come true and I’ll never forget it. To all the fans and businesses that I had a chance to build wonderful new friendships and relationships with. Thank you. You’re a passionate and wonderful group,” he said in his statement on Twitter.

Prior to his stint in Humboldt, Beaudry held a number of positions with various hockey clubs, including head coach of the Naicam Vikings, general manager of the Tri Town Thunder, and consultant with the Ontario Hockey League’s Mississauga Steelheads.

Beaudry joins the Millionaires replacing Mark Chase, who left the club in the spring after accepting a position with the Osoyoos Coyotes of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League, a junior B league based in B.C.

“I want to thank Devin Windle and the Melville Millionaires for offering me a great opportunity to continue to reach my goal which is helping boys become men of empathy, integrity, who will lead, be responsible, and change the world for good. I’m deeply humbled for the opportunity.”
