HUMBOLDT — The Humboldt Hammerheads held their annual awards night, acknowledging the work of the team throughout the season.

The evening started off with the annual general meeting taking place. While that was happening, the swimmers had the opportunity to spend some time in the pool not practicing.

Once the meeting was over and everyone was fed, the award presentations began.

To start the presentations, the assistant and junior coaches were called up and thanked by Leisl Lefebvre, the team’s head coach.

“I know that I don’t say this enough throughout the year, and I cannot say it enough tonight. Thank you, thank you, thank you,” Lefebvre said. “What you teach them this year is the base that we build on for years to come. The youngest swimmers are the backbone of our club growth. Without your efforts with our shark pups, we could not continue to grow."

The awards handed out included The Guppy Award, The Most Dedicated Swimmer, The Congeniality Award, Top Novice Award, The Family Award, The Coach’s Award, Purple Heart, Hi Point and Most Improved.
