HUMBOLDT — The Broncos won their second home game against the Estevan Bruins 8-4.

Brayden Camrud finished with three goals and two assists for the Broncos, who have a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven quarter-final series.

Humboldt scored four times in the first period, and had as many goals as Estevan had shots in that opening frame. Drew Warkentine, Michael Clarke, Reid Arnold and former Bruin Logan Foster scored for Humboldt.

Johnny Witzke scored for Estevan 5:59 into the second, but Camrud scored his first of the game a few minutes later.

Derek Patter added to the Humboldt lead with a goal 4:52 into the third, and then the Bruins staged a comeback. Michael McChesney scored two short-handed goals in 24 seconds to make it a 6-3 game, and Ryder Pierson scored a few minutes later to cut the deficit to two.

But Camrud scored 50 seconds after Pierson’s goal to dash the comeback hopes, and added his third of the game four minutes later.

Rayce Ramsay stopped 27 out of 31 shots made on the Broncos’ net.
