HUMBOLDT — For the first time in about a decade, Humboldt Collegiate’s senior girls’ volleyball team will be competing in the provincials.

They will face nine other teams, including the Melfort and Nipawin high schools, in Fort Qu’Appelle Nov. 15 and 16.

At the regionals held right here in Humboldt on Nov. 9, the Mohawks volleyball team placed third, with Meadow Lake and North Battleford placing first and second respectively.

Humboldt had a 1-1 record in round robin play, was defeated by Meadow Lake in the semifinal and won against Martensville in the bronze final.

The Mohawks were the provincial volleyball champions in 2010 and 2007, and silver medalists in 2009.
