Flood of goals seals Melfort Mustangs' defeat

MELFORT — The Melfort Mustangs could not overcome the flood of goals that came their way in the first period. With a 4-2 decision, the Estevan Bruins won Game 4 of the semifinals April 3.

MELFORT — The Melfort Mustangs could not overcome the flood of goals that came their way in the first period.

With a 4-2 decision, the Estevan Bruins won Game 4 of the semifinals April 3.

In the first period, Estevan's Cody Davis scored two goals one after the other, a performance repeated by TJ Irey. Jake Hobson of the Mustangs then scored before the period ended.

Melfort's Alex Rondeau then scored in the middle of the second period.

Neither team scored in the third period, even though both teams had a prolonged two-man advantage.

Shawn Parkinson made 14 saves for Melfort, while Grant Boldt stopped 19 shots for the Bruins.
