HUMBOLDT — The Humboldt Broncos will face off against the Flin Flon Bombers in the first round of the playoffs.

“We’re the underdog this year – and I wouldn’t have it any other way,” said captain Graysen Cameron.

The first two games are on the road, on Friday, March 6 and Saturday, March 7.

Tuesday, March 10 will be the first playoff game at home, following by a fourth game on Wednesday, March 11.

Cameron and top scorer Logan Foster are the lone 20-year-olds on the youthful squad, which features two players in their 16-year-old seasons playing big minutes. The young players learned as they competed and helped the Broncos earn a playoff spot.

When asked what he is looking forward to about the postseason, Cameron said:

“It’s a brand new season… The atmosphere. Humboldt really comes together. The fans get loud.”

If needed, the fifth game will be in Flin Flon on Friday, March 13, the sixth game will be at home at 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, and the seventh game will be in Flin Flon on Tuesday, March 17.

The Broncos were 2-3-0-1 against the Bombers during the regular season. As of Sunday, Flin Flon boasted four of the SJHL’s top seven scorers – Cole Rafuse (88 points, second); Alec Malo (88, third); Donavan Houle-Villeneuve (68, sixth) and Tristan Lemyre (62, seventh).
