Area players win golds, silvers at district badminton championship

EAST CENTRAL — Junior badminton players from Muenster, Middle Lake, Bruno and LeRoy took home the district championships.

The Horizon Central Athletic Association Junior Badminton District Championship were held at Humboldt Collegiate Institute on May 4. The championship is the highest level players can reach in junior badminton.

The top two in each category were:

 

Boys Singles

  1. Riley Sylvestre (Muenster)
  2. Dallen Jule (Bruno)

 

Girls Singles

  1. Morgan Otsig (Middle Lake)
  2. Katie MacLean (Humboldt Collegiate)

 

Mixed Doubles

  1. Kyra Trumier and Logan Gareau (Bellevue)
  2. Nicholas Braun and Adrienne Kolkman (Annaheim)

 

Boys Doubles

  1. Cam Marshak and Ben Koo (Bruno)
  2. Zaynn Tkachyk and Jon Paul Almodiel (Foam Lake)

 

Girls Doubles

  1. Amielle Magnulabnan and Mica Baclaan (LeRoy)
  2. Sheila Villareal and Mariah Baclaan (LeRoy)
