REGINA — Police in Regina believe they have found the remains of a man missing since 1997 after his brother was charged with first-degree murder.
Police say Patrick Thauberger's remains were found in rural Saskatchewan on Thursday.
His family has been notified and investigators are waiting on forensic results to confirm the discovery.
Thauberger disappeared in September 1997 and last Sunday police charged his brother Joseph Thauberger with his murder.
The 78-year-old was also charged with offering an indignity to a human body and uttering threats.
Police say the threats were made against an unnamed woman from 1997 to 2014.
