WATROUS — Watrous RCMP are warning the public that their area has been the target of a phone scam, with the caller claiming to be with Service Canada.
The caller is looking for information and verification of bank account and SIN numbers. As a scare tactic to get such information, they are claiming false allegations resulting in a warrant for arrest against the person they are phoning.
The Watrous RCMP is reminding the public not to give out personal information in such a manner. If you have been targeted, you can call the Canadian Anti-Fraud center at 1-888-495-8501.
