A collision between a vehicle and a combine south of Cudworth has left two dead and one injured.

The vehicle, heading southbound, hit the combine at the intersection of Highway #2 and provincial grid road 767, which is approximately 6.6 kilometres south of Cudworth. The combine was coming off the grid road.

Wakaw RCMP, Hoodoo Fire Department and EMS were called on the scene at 5 pm Sept. 27. Two women in the vehicle were pronounced deceased at the scene, while a man was transported to hospital in Saskatoon with undetermined injuries. The combine driver was not injured.

Police closed the intersection until 1:15 am Sept. 28 so a RCMP traffic reconstructionist could gather evidence along with the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service.

Police say the collision is still under investigation. At this time, they believe alcohol was not a factor in the collision.
