TISDALE — Cpl. Mike Benjamin said the Tisdale detachment has been adapting their staff procedures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“At a detachment level here… we have temporarily reduced our front counter service,” he said. “We won’t be doing criminal record checks here at this time, unless they’re absolutely urgent.”

Benjamin said if anybody has any questions, they can contact the detachment at 306-878-3810.

“As far as front-line staff, we’re always operational and have implemented procedures to make sure we stay that way.”

No changes have been made at the holding cell level at this time.

“Our staff, which is the guards, are going to receive detailed instructions on how to detail with prisoners as far as being conscious about the pandemic. That will be about it,” Benjamin said.

From March 4 to 18, the Tisdale detachment responded to 73 calls for service including seven fraud complaints, three driving while disqualified, three impaired drivers, and four files under the Mental Health Act.
