TISDALE — The Town of Tisdale is ending all COVID-19 protocols at its civic facilities as the province lifts its emergency health orders, including the mandatory indoor masking order.
The change to the public health order, which takes effect July 11, will also remove limits on events and gathering sizes. The province is advising that unvaccinated or partially vaccinated people should still consider masking.
Brad Hvidston, Tisdale’s administrator, said hand sanitizer will remain available at civic facilities while supplies last, but all other municipal operations are expected to return to normal.
“We will be going back to normal as fast as we possibly can. You’ll see, starting on the 11th, we’ll be life as normal and all restrictions will be lifted from the town,” Hvidston said. “It’s still peoples’ option if they want to wear a mask. They can, but we won’t be enforcing that they have to.”
Hvidston said the additional cleaning protocols will also end. During the pandemic the town would use a fogger filled with cleaning chemicals to disinfect a space after use, now that regulations are lifting town staff will be returning to standard mopping and sweeping.
“We will be doing our periodic cleaning throughout the day or you kind of watch for messes, or spills, or garbage or whatever and pick up during the day, then you do your more thorough cleaning at the end of the night when the users are done.”
