TISDALE — Tisdale council approved a location for a Kinsmen dog park on the north west area of town, along Heritage Road, west of Mount Tisdale.

“It’s in the planning stages at this point,” said Carol Lawrence, Tisdale’s director of finance. “Basically what we’ve done is we selected an area of land that we think will work well for it. We’re also looking into further development of a trail system in that area as well.”

Discussion around fence height requirements, size of the park, groundwork preparation and parking have not been discussed by council at this time.

“This is a concept and we’ll move forward with the concept in 2020.”

Pat Edmunds, president of the Tisdale Kinsmen, said the Kinsmen would like the park ready for July, but it would likely take more time to prepare.

“The town will be doing the landscaping, we’re buying the fence and other amenities for it,” Edmunds said.
