TISDALE — Tisdale Town Council met for their first meeting of 2021 with a few items to approve for the beginning of the year.

With there were no changes to the motion, all tax incentives for the town have been approved for 2021.

Incentives are in place to stimulate residential and commercial development growth within Tisdale with incentives spanning across residential and commercial developments.

Seven incentives were approved during the Jan. 11 council meeting and residents and business owners can be eligible for a tax incentive if they are building a new property, bringing in a new business to town, developing a multi-rental facility, or enhancing their storefront on their business.

Chief Administrative Officer Brad Hvidston said these incentives are keeping Tisdale competitive with surrounding communities and the town wanted to support development whether for businesses and residential properties are first coming in or existing businesses want to expand.

Especially with COVID-19 having an impact on the price of construction materials, these incentives will be especially important to have in place for 2021.
