MELFORT— The Melfort RCMP has arrested two individuals in two different instances with possession of stolen property in Melfort.

The first instance occurred on Dec. 30.

On Dec. 30, the Melfort RCMP arrested and charged a 34-year-old man with breaking into a business on Main Street.

His charges included break and enter, possession of stolen property, theft under $5,000, possession of methamphetamine, and breaching his judge's undertaking.

He is scheduled to appear in Melfort Provincial Court on Jan. 14.

The second instance occurred on Jan. 6.

On that day, the RCMP responded to a complaint of a stolen vehicle on Broadway Avenue South.

After the RCMP located a suspect, a foot chase ensued between the individual and officers. After catching him, the 38-year-old man was charged with possession of stolen property, resisting arrest, assaulting a police officer and possession of methamphetamine.
