CARROT RIVER — A 19-year-old woman from the Carrot River area died from a two-vehicle collision between a car and a school bus three miles north of Carrot River on Highway 23.

Carrot River RCMP said they, the Carrot River Fire Department and EMS responded to the crash on July 18 at around 2:30 p.m.

The woman, the only person in the car, was pronounced deceased at the scene. There were no serious injuries reported from the bus, which was transporting 12 adults from a gathering in the area.

Police said they don’t believe alcohol to be a factor. They said an investigation is ongoing with the assistance of an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist.
