MELFORT— The City of Melfort has instructed anyone who requires trash to be hauled, outside of regularly scheduled pickup, to contact a licensed commercial hauler.

This instruction comes after the city has received multiple requests from the public on how they can dispose of their solid waste if they do not live within the city or if it does not fit in their curbside pickup.

Earlier this month, the City of Melfort restricted public access to the Melfort Regional Landfill. Licensed commercial contractors maintain landfill access.

“We have received multiple requests from the public on how they can dispose of their solid waste if they do not live within the city or if it does not fit in their residential waste container,” said Brent Lutz, Melfort’s director of development, planning and community relations

“Greenland Waste has advised the city that they continue to offer waste collection services throughout the region. New customers are welcome and should contact them directly.”

Anyone who requires waste to be hauled can contact a licensed commercial hauler.

Greenland Waste can be contacted by phone at 306-763-3133 or by email at sales@greenlandwaste.ca.

Regularly scheduled curbside waste and recycling pickup is continuing as normal.
