MELFORT — Melfort Communities in Bloom have sent a proposal to the city for four new community projects including a metal “Welcome to Melfort” sign, a vintage truck photo opportunity, and planting 200 trees.

The first project will be a 15-foot-high metal silhouette “Welcome to Melfort” sign to be installed on the corner of Broadway Avenue North and MacDonald Avenue next to their existing seeder planter.

The second is to add a metal tree in Memorial Garden, which will hold five planters.

The third project is to install an old vintage truck on the boulevard on the south east corner of Saskatchewan Drive and Brunswick Street. It is intended to be utilized as a planter and create a photo opportunity for the community.

Communities in Bloom also stated they will be helping plant 200 trees that the city had acquired from the Watershed Authority.

Some locations they have planned to plant them include the south walking path, east side of the cemetery, along the gold course, and at Spruce Haven Park.
