HUMBOLDT — A marketing committee focused on promoting the City of Humboldt to the world has its first members.
“It’s going to be a good group,” said Rob Muench, Humboldt’s mayor. “I’m actually pretty excited to get together and see what everybody can bring to the table, because everybody has different ideas about how the community should portray itself and it’ll be good to get those ideas flowing.”
Representing council are Muench and Coun. Lorne Pratchler. Branden Engele will represent the business improvement district while Olivia Coffyne will represent the chamber of commerce. The four members from the public at large are Hayley Kennedy, Carla Vipond, Stefani Block and Judy Plag.
The members were approved at the Feb. 25 council meeting.
“I think the next step will be to get everybody together sitting around a table and try to figure out where we go from here,” Muench said, adding that will include figuring out some of the practices for the city to use in its marketing and coming up with suggestions for council.
