Man charged in connection to thefts in RM of St. Peter

A 28-year-old Annaheim man has been charged in connection to a stolen vehicle out of Raymore and thefts in the RM of St. Peter.

Humboldt RCMP received a fuel theft complaint from a farmyard in the RM of St. Peter Oct. 10, followed by several additional complaints of thefts as well as break and enters in the surrounding area over the next 24 hours.

The next day, Oct. 11, the police did a traffic stop on Highway #20 north of Humboldt at approximately 10:30 am. A vehicle that RCMP believed was connected to the thefts was stopped. As the officer approached the truck, the driver fled the scene. The officer was not injured. RCMP did not pursue the vehicle for public safety reasons.

Targeted patrols were conducted in Humboldt and the surrounding area. The suspect vehicle was located abandoned in a wooded area in south Humboldt. The truck was confirmed to be stolen out of Raymore.

RCMP located the suspect in the 200 block of 10th Street. A foot pursuit ensued and the RCMP took the suspect into custody in the 200 block of 7th Street at approximately 2 pm.

The man will make first appearance in Saskatoon Provincial Court on  Oct. 12th. He will face one charge of possession of stolen property over $5,000; one count of break, enter and theft of a residence; one count of theft under $5,000; four counts of mischief over $5000; and one count of resisting arrest.
