Man accused of threatening to shoot family made first court appearance

TISDALE — A 37-year-old man who was allegedly threatening to shoot his family in the Tisdale area made his first court appearance.

David Guest is charged with uttering threats, assault with a weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, dangerous driving and unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon.

He appeared by phone at Melfort Provincial Court on June 25.

Guest was represented by Loree Richardson through Legal Aid Saskatchewan.

He will reappear at Melfort Provincial Court on Thursday, July 2 by CCTV for a bail hearing.

In the interim, Richardson requested the preparation of a bail verification report.

Crown prosecutor Jennifer Souter stated they are opposed to release.
