Quill Lake

The Quill Lake Hornets put an end to their school year, with their awards ceremony on June 14.

The Hornets handed out awards in 14 different categories including academic and honour roll awards for grade 6, 7 and 8, 9 and 10, and 11 and 12 students, athletic awards, performance awards, Saskatchewan Youth Apprenticeship Awards, Student Involvement Awards, Service Awards, Spirit Awards, and SRC Executive Awards.

“This QLS Awards & Entertainment Showcase is planned for the grades 6 to 12 students in order to recognize students’ achievement of excellence in specific areas… We hope to encourage students to excel by the provision of these awards.  The School Community Council, Quill Lake School, and the SRC sponsor these awards,” noted the Quill Lake awards program.

Muenster

The Muenster Cougars also capped off their school year with their annual awards ceremony, as they celebrated their students and waved goodbye to their grade 12’s with a ceremony at the school on June 21.

The Cougars handed out awards to a number of students, many of which were scholarships.

Muenster also handed out endeavor awards, to students in each grade between 7 and 12, with Adam Korte, Ethan Hinz, Brady Behiel, Abbie Korte, Drayton Kiefer, and Jenay Varga taking home the respective awards.

Other award winners included Brett Muyres, who won the Governor General’s Academic Award for the 2016-2017 school year, and the Sr. Girls volleyball team, who took home the Muenster School special achievement award, after the group captured the 2A provincial title.

With the school year now complete, students will have a summer to relax before work begins again in the fall.
