The Humboldt and District Museum has something special up for raffle.

Louise Mueller meant a lot to the museum as the first president and founder of the Friends of the Museum and Gallery. When she died in 2017, Mueller, who also quilted, had a finished quilt top completed  by friends and family to be donated back to the museum.

Mueller was a long time, faithful serving member of the friends organization and worked tirelessly, says Humboldt and District Museum and Gallery director, Jennifer Fitzpatrick.

“When the decision was made to start an organization to support the work of the museum, Louise was really part of that crew of volunteers that really brought that together.”

Fitzpatrick often joked with Mueller that when she recruited her to be president, she did not mean for her to be in the position for what would be 20 plus years.

“She kept telling us that she was going to step down as soon as we found a new president, everybody loved her so much. She was just so kind to us to continue.”

Tickets will be sold until the end of 2018 with all funds going to the Friends of the Museum and Gallery.
