HUMBOLDT — Keeping everyone safe at the Humboldt Aquatic Centre is going to be everyone’s responsibility.

The pool is set to open on Monday, July 27 with new guidelines available for both staff and patrons

Physical distancing guidelines will be in place while patrons are both in the pool, in the seating areas, and the fitness room, and patrons are encouraged to use contactless forms of payment and check-in.

Patrons are also encouraged to come in swimwear or workout gear to cut back on time in the change room. While drinking fountains will not be available, water bottle fill stations will be available for patrons using their own water bottles.

Aquatic and fitness programs will be drop-in only with a maximum capacity set by Leisure Services.

These above rules apply to both the pool and the fitness areas.

The hot tub and water slide will also have a maximum capacity and will be monitored. Personal flotation devices will be disinfected and available for use but patrons are responsible for bringing other pool tools, including diving toys, noodles, goggles and three feet inflatable rings.

Staff will have a more stringent cleaning and disinfecting schedule at the facility, including for the fitness area, but patrons are still encouraged to clean machines before and after using the machine. Leisure Services also encourage patrons not to share machines.
