Freezing rain warning in effect for east central Saskatchewan (UPDATE: Ended)

EAST CENTRAL — Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for the east central region, including Humboldt, Tisdale, Melfort and Nipawin.

The warning was issued at 11:41 a.m. on Jan. 5.

“Freezing rain continues for regions in east-central Saskatchewan. Various reports of icy conditions have been reported in this band. Communities in the warning area can expect the freezing rain to last for about an hour or two before ending,” said the weather service.

“Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.”
