Drugs uncovered at Nipawin traffic stop

NIPAWIN — Three were arrested at a traffic stop in Nipawin uncovered drugs, including methamphetamine.

A search of the vehicle was conducted May 20 at 10:40 pm and 63 grams of methamphetamine, 23 pills of hydromorphone and 68 pills of buprenorphine were located and seized. Also located during the search was a can of bear spray, drug paraphernalia and other items consistent with drug trafficking.

A Nipawin resident and two Naicam residents were charged for possession for the purpose of trafficking and possessing a weapon dangerous to the public. One of the Naicam residents was also charged with breaching a conditional sentence order.

All three charged were held in custody and appeared in Nipawin Provincial Court on May 22. All three were further remanded into custody until their next appearance on May 29 in Nipawin.
