HUMBOLDT — Motorists should expect construction on Peck Road from Fourth Avenue in Humboldt to Highway 20 for the next two to three weeks.
Construction crews are improving the road by clay capping it.
“That road has been notoriously bad for the last number of years with high moisture,” said Rob Muench, Humboldt’s mayor. “We're working with the RM and rebuilding it and putting some decent base there so that we don't have to close it down every spring when it gets wet.”
At times the roadway will be temporarily closed to traffic, the city asks motorists to obey all road signs and construction traffic.
The city has budgeted around $101,000 on the project.
