The City of Humboldt released a video thanking the world for their support during the aftermath of the Broncos crash.

“We’d like to tell everybody that we’re doing okay here,” Rob Muench, Humboldt’s mayor, said in the video. “If you come here now, you’ll know that we’re moving on with our lives as a community. It’s still okay to grieve, but we’re getting to the point now where we’re starting to be with our new normal.”

The mayor said the city has been looking at producing some videos for to promote economic development in Humboldt for a while.

“In light of what’s happened with the Broncos, we felt that the first one should be a recognition of all those that have helped Humboldt get through the tragedy,” he said. “There was such an outpouring that we felt we needed to formally say thank you and do it in a way that was broad, that we could thank everybody instead of try to thank everybody individually, which would be hard to do.”

The city hired a company to produce the video. Muench said the city hasn’t decided how it will go about doing the other videos, whether it be using a company or moving it in-house, adding that’s something the new marketing committee will be discussing.

The video was released Oct. 8.

“We put it up on Monday for Thanksgiving,” the mayor said. “We felt that was very appropriate.”
