MELFORT— The City of Melfort is asking the public to consider donating canned foods to the Melfort Bood bank.

Volunteers will be on hand at the Melfort Food Bank at 203 Broadway North from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 pm. on April 8 to assist with curbside drop off of donated goods from the public.

The city’s goal is to fill their shelves in time for April 9, which is the only day in April that the Melfort Food Bank will be open to the public.

Families will be given double hampers on that day to help them get through the entire month.

Those who can make a cash donation to the food bank are encouraged to mail it to Box 3688.

The Food Bank will be open on Thursday April 9 between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Those seeking assistance are asked to come alone to reduce the possibility of transmission of the virus.

Those seeking assistance are asked to bring with them the Saskatchewan Health cards for each of the members of their household.
