CARROT RIVER — The Town of Carrot River will be tendering the replacement of sewer and water mains on Main Street.

The original plan for the town was to pave Main Street along with Third Avenue and parts of First Avenue, but winter breaks along the lines on Main Street changed the plan.

“So council has suggested that I remove the Main Street area from the paving project for 2019 and we tender the paving project for Third Avenue and 1st Avenue as is,” said Kevin Trew, the town’s administrator. “See what the pricing is and then we’ll go from there.”

The delay on Main Street paving will be at least one year.

“Our loose terms, if we feel we are going to replace sewer and water and stormwater systems in a 10-year window, we won’t pave it.”
