The Humboldt Broncos and the City of Humboldt are getting together to honour those who put Humboldt on the map over the last year.

An award recognition night Jan. 23 will be held during the home game between the Broncos and the La Ronge Ice Wolves.

“Individuals, teams or performers from Humboldt who have won a provincial title or placed at the national level in 2018 are invited to attend and walk the red carpet to centre ice during an intermission at the game,” read a document about the event from Humboldt’s leisure services department.

To be recognized, an application form must be filled out that details who received the distinction, what it is for, and a description of what happened to make the achievement possible. The form can be picked up at the front desk at the Uniplex and are due Jan. 14.

Those receiving recognition will get free tickets to the game.

The Broncos and city aren’t the only groups recognizing achievements from Humboldt citizens and organizations. The Humboldt and District Chamber of Commerce is looking for nominations for its Mark of Excellence awards, while the Humboldt Journal is looking for nominations for citizen and junior citizen of the year. Both of those are due Jan. 15 and forms can be picked up at their respective offices.
