HUMBOLDT — The Westminster United Church will host a variety of artists and genres at their annual September concert.

“There's going to be a variety of different music and talents, and we’re going to have trios and duets, some will be piano, woodwinds, brass – a big variety of different instruments and songs and singing,” said April Kozar, church administrator.

The event was started a few years ago to showcase a new grand piano jointly owned between Arts Humboldt and the Humboldt Music Festival.

“It had been in storage and they had asked if the United Church wanted to bring it out of storage and use it,” Kozar said.

“Every year we got new people that join in and be part of the concert.”

Kozar said there isn’t a theme between the performances, but rather people sign up and “do their own thing”.

“It brings a lot of different musicians together and we just enjoy doing it.”

This year the concert has about 20 performances.

It will take place Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. at the Westminster United Church.

“We’re going to have a little social after in the hall and it’s just a nice way to see different people that have musical talents to air in the community.”
