TISDALE — A fundraising gala being organized by Tisdale’s emergency services that will feature the Lieutenant Governor and the commanding officer of the Saskatchewan RCMP is at risk of being cancelled.

Cpl. Mike Benjamin with the Tisdale RCMP said there’s only been around 50 tickets sold so far for the Saturday, Oct. 5 gala. The capacity for the event is at around 300.

“We're at that critical stage where if we don't bump up our numbers, we will be having to look at unfortunately cancelling due to poor ticket sales.”

Benjamin emphasized the gala is a charitable event.

“It's a fundraiser that we're hosting between the emergency services, between police, fire, ambulance, the Tisdale Legion and to Victim Services.”

The event is a black-tie affair and will feature supper, entertainment and a silent auction.

Tickets are available at RWB Communications or the Tisdale RCMP. Organizers will have to make a decision by Sept. 30.

The gala is planned to be held at the Tisdale RECplex on Saturday, Oct. 5. Cocktails begin at 5:30 p.m., while dinner starts at 6 p.m.
