MELFORT — The North East SPCA (NESPCA) is planning on installing their donor “Memorial Wall” display by the end of February or early March.

The Memorial Wall will list the names given through all donations made in memory of any person or animal since 2012.

Originally, the display was planned to be constructed before the opening of the Harry and Eve Shelter, but according to Bill Woods, with NESPCA, this was delayed by a sudden influx of animals, along with construction tweaks.

“The wall was not displayed at that time due to the lack of resources and the pressing need to open the animal shelter,” Woods said.

“This will be a very special display of the names of loved ones passed, and will also include the names of beloved pets.”

At the time of installation the ¼ inch plexiglass – four by five feet display will have “In Memoriam” then list 75 names in random order.

Additional room is left to add more names in the future.

The memorial will be mounted on the west wall of the foyer, with a visual theme to match the signage at the door.

It is expected to be open for public viewing after installation in the coming months.
