Gloria Ryan

Lombardy Ont

This is from my heart. I am hockey mom who billeted junior players for over 25 years.

Gone To Soon

Butterflies flying in the air

The birds are singing their song;

The wind is blowing through the trees

In the world there is nothing wrong.

The sound of laughter on a bus

Is part of a team going to their game;

How one minute can change their world

Where nothing will be the same.

The broken lives and broken dreams

Have all came crashing down;

How one can cope with what they saw

How can anyone rebuild a town.

They played the game with all their heart

Hoping NHL could be their dream;

But the Heavens opened up their gates

To welcome such a team.

The ones left down here on this earth

Will keep the flame alive;

Their memories of their fallen mates

Will help them all survive.

Emotions are high and questions are many

The answer may not be found;

The memory of the fallen players

All lying on the ground.

Time will heal but you will never be the same

Each day you will wonder why;

The only respond you will have on days

Is sit and only cry.

Memories and pain are all you have

Your team has created such a bond;

We prayer for all who must go on

Humboldt Broncos please stay strong.
