The January 4, 2012 edition of the Humboldt Journal announced that Paige Crozon (left) and Joe Dutchak were named the Junior and Citizen of the Year for Humboldt and District for 2012.
Dutchak is a longtime member of the Humboldt Fire Department, a volunteer EMT and CPR instructor, a Justice of the Peace and a sign language instructor. Through his work driving a tow truck and his volunteer efforts, he has helped many in countless ways, often without any recognition at all.
Crozon, who was a Grade 12 student at Humboldt Collegiate Institute (HCI) at the time was very involved in sports, including volleyball, track, speed swimming, hockey and basketball. She represented Humboldt on the basketball court provincially, nationally with Team Saskatchewan and internationally with Team Canada. She was co-president of HCI’s
Student Representative Council and attended City Council meetings as a Youth Councillor. Crozon is currently attending University of Utah through a basketball scholarship.photo by Imagin Photography
