Members from across the Humboldt business community helped to welcome the Lube Stop Humboldt and their owner, Yiting (Michael) Tang and his family, to the business community at their grand opening on Jan. 26. Weather did not stop the opening of the brand new Lube Stop location with people packing into the new business for their Jan. 26 grand opening.

Lube Stop President Ricardo Marcil was on hand with owners, Yiting (Michael) Tang, to open the business which can service every make and model of vehicle with premium products and warranty approved work.

“This store is one of six locations, and is kind of a hybrid where it’s going to do mechanical on top of the lube services,” says Marcil.

This includes tire and brake work as well as other services, says Marcil.

“We’ll be able to deliver to the community and the farmers and the business people right to their doorstep for those services.”

Since 2007 when Marcil started as owner of Lube Stops location, they have done 1.3 million oil changes in a 10 year period.

We know what we are doing and we know how to do it right, says Marcil.

Bringing a vehicle in, nothing will be done without customer approval and within Original equipment manufacturer guidelines, says Marcil.

“When your vehicle comes in the store, we scan your vehicle in. What we see is exactly what’s in the owner manual on that vehicle and therefore we follow it to the letter.”

Marcil is impressed by Humboldt, saying that is a great community with a great attitude and a good trading centre.

“It’s an active highway centre. It pulls in a lot of poeple from a lot of districts and people are very loyal. They want to support local.”

Marcil says they want to support that and be a part of the local business community.

Tang was also impressed with the Humboldt community saying it is a nice place.

Tang saw the need in Humboldt for a new Lube Stop location, he says, since it can create business opportunities and can ensure people are well serviced.

“That’s the reason I see Humboldt as an opportunity for us,” he says.

Tang has been in Saskatchewan for the last 10 years, applying for his Masters degree and being accepted by the University of Saskatchewan.

“Here is my second home now. My wife started at the University of British Columbia, and at the time I asked her to come (to Saskatchewan). Here is better, here is more beautiful than B.C.”

Government of Saskatchewan Finance Minister and Humboldt-Watrous MLA Donna Harpauer was also in attendance at the grand opening and spoke about the business opportunities in Saskatchewan.

The motto for Saskatchewan is, “from many peoples, strength” which was an important message for the day, says Harpauer.

“This demonstrates how Saskatchewan welcomes immigrants and the investment from immirgrants and how we are a stronger, better province because of it.”

Lube Stop is located on the west side of the city on the corner of 21st St. and Hwy. 5.
