HUMBOLDT — The Humboldt Fire Department fought a fire in a motorhome parked on an empty lot on Sixth Avenue between 12th Street and 13th Street.

Twelve fire department members responded around 12:14 p.m. on April 30, finding the motorhome fully engulfed in flames, Mike Kwasnica, Humboldt’s fire chief, said in an email.

“The owner was present and was doing maintenance on the unit when the fire started,” he said. “The fire is not suspicious, but the cause is currently under investigation.”

Some damage was caused to a telecommunication pole and equipment located nearby. The fire chief said the motorhome was a total loss.

The Fire Department left the scene at 1:52 p.m.
